Paris qualify for the League Cup final at the expense of Rennes, Kylian Mbappé excluded
As a regular, Paris went to Rennes (3-2) for a fifth consecutive qualification for the final of the Coupe de la Ligue on Tuesday, a trophy of which he is the four-time defending champion. Led three to zero in the 58th, the Bretons played more than 30 minutes to 11 against 10 after the exclusion of Kylian Mbappé (60), and he did not miss much to snatch an extension in front of their audience. We will remember from this match the three recourse to the video and the two goals denied (see below), logically, to Khazri and Mbappé.
The film of the match
It was not until 24 minutes before PSG shot on goal for the first time, 24 minutes to the smallest too much for the visitors, but the awesome outside of Thomas Meunier's foot hit, and neither the Breton defense nor Abdoulaye Diallo could not do much. A scenario all the more cruel for the Rennais and their supporters that the Belgian defender has benefited from two favorable counters before triggering his shot, and players Sabri Lamouchi, then perfectly organized in defense, seemed determined to pack the match.
The goal (just) refused to Wahbi Khazri, just before half-time (43rd, see below), it seems he put a stroke of morale, and the PSG was quick to take advantage of the return cloakrooms. Remained at the forefront after a corner, Marquinhos scored the goal of the break at the 53rd, imitated five minutes later by Giovani Lo Celso (58th), entered at halftime instead of Javier Pastore. The fate of the match seemed sealed, but Rennes did not give up and even ended up reducing the score, 3-1 first, on a head of his winter rookie Diafra Sakho (85), then at 3-2, in added time, thanks to Sanjin Prcic (90 + 2). Kevin Trapp had previously shown flawless, including the same Sakho (78th, 81st) and Hunou (84), which can not boast Diallo, whose mistakes (see the player) have cost the Bretons dear.
